Dr. McCann was raised on Long Island. She graduated from the Mississippi State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1993, where she was the recipient of the Gentle Doctor award for her class. The award is voted by fellow classmates as the veterinarian they would most likely take their own pets to. After graduation, Dr. McCann began working as an associate veterinarian. Within a year following graduation, she started working as an emergency veterinarian and continued practicing emergency medicine for another 20 years before going into general practice. Dr. McCann enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. Their extended family includes two dogs, a cat, a bird, and a rabbit. She also enjoys cycling and helping her husband with community service work for veterans.


Dr. Perkins started in the veterinary field as a Licensed Veterinary Technician prior to attending veterinary school. She received a Bachelor of Science in Marine Vertebrate Biology from Stony Brook University in 2012. Dr. Perkins then attended Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine and completed her clinical year at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Dr. Perkins’ professional interests include preventative & wellness care, canine rehabilitation, neurology, and pain management. Dr. Perkins shares her home with her black Labrador, Benson.
